This is a post-operative shoe indicated following minimally invasive and percutaneous operations of the forefoot; it can also be used with a bandaged foot. The rigid biomechanical sole guarantees both to release pressure from the operated forefoot and to facilitate walking. The sole, thanks to its shape, helps to simulate a natural walk. The upper adapts to the different dimensions of the foot to be accommodated; its special construction allows the containment of the operated foot, eliminating any pressure point; the stabilization of the heel is guaranteed by the anatomical construction of the product, avoiding the rotation of the heel during the contact and mid stance phases.

The reduced-friction tread at the toe and heel helps accommodate toe drag and heel scuff, minimizing the risk of accidental tripping. The elastic strap around the front of the ankle prevents the product from slipping off the heel. The DARCO MedSurg has a rocker bottom sole which is designed to reduce pressure on the bottom surface of your foot by up to 25% for a more comfortable walking experience.

The DARCO MedSurg™ Shoe is a versatile postoperative shoe with a square toe. It is suitable for use after foot surgery or when K-wires are present. It can be used when large bandages or dressing are required. It can be used as a platform for the PegAssist™ insole when off-loading wounds.
